Shoreline: Michigan has the longest freshwater coastline in the United States, stretching over 3,000 miles along the Great Lakes. One of our favorite slogans is “No Salt, No Sharks, No Worries.”
Lighthouses: Michigan is home to a vast number of lighthouses, with over 120 still standing today. Many of these lighthouses have been turned into museums and tourist attractions.
Colleges: There are over 100 colleges and universities in Michigan, including some of the top-ranked institutions in the country, such as the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.
Tourist Attractions:Michigan is home to a number of popular tourist attractions, such as Mackinac Island, Traverse City, Petoskey, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, the Henry Ford Museum & so much more!
Industry: Michigan has a rich history in manufacturing, particularly in the automotive industry. Detroit, also known as “Motor City,” was once the center of the automotive industry and is still home to many major car manufacturers.
Nature:Michigan is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including forests, lakes, and rivers. The state is also home to several national parks and forests, such as Isle Royale National Park and the Huron-Manistee National Forest.
History: Michigan played a key role in the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, and was also a major player in the labor movement of the early 20th century.
